Job specification:	NeuroLab is seeking candidates for a Postdoctoral Position in Cognitive Neuroscience and Space Medicine. Neurolab is a cognitive neuroscience laboratory located in the Department of Psychology at the University of Calgary (neurolab.ca), and affiliated with the Hotchkiss Brain Institute and the Alberta Children’s Hospital Research Institute. The laboratory is dedicated to investigating the cognitive and neurological mechanisms underlying the human ability to orient and navigate in spatial surroundings, is fully equipped with state-of-the-art hardware and software to perform behavioural and MRI studies, and has direct access to MRI scanners in Calgary and Houston (TX, USA).

Job specification:	When a person listens to sound, various parts of the auditory system are activated, including the brain. We can then measure the brain waves using EEG, decode them and draw conclusions about the auditory system. We aim to develop a computational model of the auditory system, based on state-of-the art, deep-neural-network-based systems for automatic speech recognition. The model will be constructed by letting people listen to natural speech signals, and relating the recorded electroencephalogram (EEG) signal to the corresponding acoustic signals.
