Research Theme Coordinator

  This is an exciting post to be involved in the Biomedical Research Centre in Mental Health (BRC-MH) at the South London and Maudsley NHS Foundation Trust and Institute of Psychiatry, Psychology and Neuroscience. We are looking for a person interested in research to Coordinate the Patient and Carer Involvement Theme ( which takes the service user point of view in research so that it easily translates into beneficial clinical care. In addition to specific mental health research, the post-holder will help to facilitate and develop patient and public involvement across the BRC-MH.


  • PhD or other relevant post-graduate qualification
  • Degree in Psychology, Social Sciences or related discipline
  • Strong planning and organisational skills
  • Good knowledge of research design, writing protocols and make appropriate analyses
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal

Conditions of employment

  • Salary: £38,304 – £45,026/£46,292 – £54,534 including London Weighting. Grade 6 or grade 7, depending on experience
  • This post will be offered on an a fixed-term contract for 2 years
  • This is a full-time post – 100% full time equivalent
