Researcher in Psychiatry and Neurochemistry

  The Institute of Neuroscience and Physiology, invites applications for a Researcher position at the Department of Psychiatry and Neurochemistry. The Division of Psychiatry and Neurochemistry at the Department of Neuroscience and Physiology conducts neurochemical research aimed at identifying and studying pathophysiology and pathologies in neurodegenerative diseases.

This research group uses state of the art NMR-spectroscopy to study large molecular complexes underlying basic cellular functions at the atomic level in combination with other structural biology methods and biophysical characterization.

We are looking for a colleague, that is highly motivated, scientifically independent and creative, as well as capable of contributing to an interdisciplinary team environment.Great importance will be placed on personal suitability.

Requirements:

  • a strong background in infectious biology, molecular biology, biochemistry, and/or NMR spectroscopy;
  • Experience in recombinant protein expression from different host-systems;
  • Expert knowledge in solution NMR methods;
  • Expert knowledge in sample preparation;
  • Documented knowledge in automated data procession and analysis;
  • Knowledge in cell biology, including handling of mammalian cell culture etc.;
  • Detailed knowledge in additional biophysical and structural biology techniques.

The employment is limited (temporary) for 12 months, 100 % of full-time, and is placed at the Institute of Neuroscience and Physiology. Starting date; as soon as possible or as agreed.
