The Chair’s responsibilities include: leading the Department in refining and implementing its strategic plan; promoting excellence in faculty research and teaching; ensuring the quality and integrity of the Department’s undergraduate and graduate degree programs; supporting departmental, college, and university policies and standards; and fostering collegial relationships in departmental governance. The chair is expected to spend at least 50% of their effort on administration and leadership duties, with the remaining 50% devoted to research, teaching, and service. |
