Job specification: The position will be core to a new academic-industry research hub based in the School of Experimental Psychology, comprising a multidisciplinary group of psychologists and technologists led by Marcus Munafò. This Bristol-based group will work in close collaboration with clinical scientist and developers at Cambridge Cognition, a Cambridge-based SME that is funding the research. The purpose of the programme is to develop novel digital applications that use cognitive and behavioural science to solve unmet medical needs in mental health. The group will be responsible for designing a programme of new tools, building prototypes, and testing them in controlled clinical studies and real-world settings. Examples might include new methods for recruiting and retaining participants in clinical research, using sensor-based data to provide timely intervention in behavioural disorders, or using novel digital biomarkers to rapidly match patients with the most effective antidepressant treatment.
