Job specification: We seek applications from computational scientists engaged with neural data, or neuroscientists with a strong computer science research record, for a full professorship in neuroinformatics. Candidates for this professorship are expected to extend and create synergistic links within and outside the University of Vienna. They are supposed to play a key role in building bridges within the University of Vienna in the areas of neuroscience and cognition. We seek applications from researchers with extensive experience in efficient handling and analysis of “big data” generated by neuroscience applications and/or neural-inspired methods for multi-level systemic modeling and understanding of the brain. A person with a strong background in algorithms, database technology or high performance computing environments for neuroscience involving, e.g. EEG, high-resolution functional magnetic resonance imaging, or neural activity monitoring would be ideal for this position.
